Wisdom Tooth Extraction Aftercare

Do’s:

     1. On the day of extraction:

  • Have a semi-liquid diet which is cooled to room temperature (Good opportunity to have ice creams!)
  • Swallow the saliva that is accumulating inside the mouth.
  • Sip on liquids after pouring them into glasses.

      Day after extraction:

  • Can start with regular diet
  • Start doing warm saline rinses to hasten wound healing and reduce swelling.
  • Use mouthwash to keep the site clean and the mouth fresh.

    2. Continue brushing and flossing such that overall hygiene is maintained.

    3. Take medications as prescribed by your doctor.

    4. Take rest as much as possible for the first 2-3 days.

    5. Drink lots of fluids

Don’ts:

      1. On the day of extraction:

  • Do not spit your saliva as there are chances of dislodgement of blood clot needed for healing.
  • Do not use straws as they create negative pressure which may suck the clot as well.
  • Do not eat hot food items as they may cause bleeding to reoccur.
  • Do not eat hard or chewy food items which can injure your gums

      2. Stay away from smoking/alcohol as they may disrupt healing.

      3. Do not push yourself into doing laborious work. Let your body rest for 2-3 days.

What are Buck Teeth?

Buck teeth, also known as protruding or overgrown teeth, refer to upper front teeth that extend too far forward, creating an overbite. This condition can affect both children and adults. It can be caused by several factors, such as genetics, thumb-sucking in childhood, or abnormal jaw growth.

The impact of Buck Teeth?

Buck teeth can affect both your oral health and self-confidence. Here are some common problems that people with buck teeth might face:

  1. Aesthetic Concerns: The appearance of buck teeth can make you feel self-conscious and lower your self-esteem.
  2. Speech Difficulties: It may be hard to pronounce certain words clearly because of the position of your upper front teeth.
  3. Increased Risk of Injury: Protruding teeth are more likely to get injured, especially during sports or accidents.
  4. Oral Health Issues: Misaligned teeth can make brushing and flossing harder, leading to an increased risk of cavities, gum disease, and other dental problems.
